This website is a Mosman Historical Society project to record through images and descriptions some of the many Mosman places that have been lost. The site will eventually include buildings, gardens and trees. Some were unremarkable but others were of considerable importance to the Mosman community.

The site is a work in progress. Contributions, comments and corrections are most welcome. Submissions on new places to be included should include an image or images and up to about 500 words of text with a list of sources for each place. Revisions to submissions based on new information are also welcome. All communications should be sent to the Mosman Historical Society at mosmanhistoricalsociety@gmail.com.

The structure shown in the site header (2007 photograph by Pam Lofthouse) is the shark net at Edwards Beach, Balmoral, controversially demolished in 2008.
